This pumper for the Conover Fire Department is built on a Sterling chassis w/a 380 horsepower Caterpillar diesel engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission.  The apparatus is equipped with a fully enclosed top control pump operator’s panel w/crew seating for four (4) firefighters at the forward portion.  The crew cab is equipped w/a heating and air conditioning unit for a climate-controlled atmosphere for firefighter rehab.  Windows are strategically installed around the entire crew cab to allow the pump operator to see around the apparatus as much as possible.  The truck is equipped w/a Waterous CS 1250GPM midship mounted pump w/6” inlets at each side and at the right rear of the apparatus.  The pump is also equipped w/a Waterous AQUIS 1.5 injection style foam system allowing foam to be discharged through the cross lays located under the crew seating in the crew cab.  At the top of the apparatus directly behind the crew cab is an Akron electrically controlled Deckmaster deck gun monitor.  The Deckmaster can be controlled either at the pump panel or w/a remote control without personnel having to climb to the top of the apparatus to control the monitor.  The water tank is a UPF 1500 gallon tank w/a 20-gal. foam concentrate cell.  The apparatus body is an all al. structure w/high compartments at each side to maximize equipment storage space on the apparatus.  At the right side the ladders are stored on a ladder rack that stores the ladders above the apparatus when not in use and lowers to an accessible height at the side of the body.  The hose bed is covered w/hinged aluminum diamond plate hose bed covers to protect the hose from weather elements and debris.  The warning light package including the taillights is Whelen LED.  The apparatus is equipped w/a Harrison 6kw hydraulic generator which supplies power to four (4) Akron 750-watt removable tripod lights and a Hannay electric rewind cable reel w/a 4-place junction box.  Genuine gold leaf lettering and Chevron striping at the rear of the apparatus finish off this pumper for the Conover Fire Department.
