The refurbishment of Marion Area Fire Dept., 1975 FWD/Seagrave pumper consisted of completely removing the old body and pump compartment. The cab was repaired and new battery boxes and aluminum diamond plate installed. A whole new pump compartment and body was installed on the existing 1975 chassis. The body was made from aluminum and had high side compartments at the left side and low side compartments at the right side. Suction hose compartments were added under the water tank “T” sections. The existing Waterous pump was reused and updated with 6” inlets to increase the GPM from 750 to 1000. All the Akron valves were rebuilt using Akron valve kits and a Feecon foam proportioning system was added. All new Class 1 gauges were installed and new control rods/handles were also added. A new 1000 gallon Poly Tankâ w/20 gallon foam cell as installed. The electrical system was completely re-done using the customers existing warning lights and adding new perimeter lights, ground lights, compartment lights, step lights, rear scene lights, clearance lights, and tail lights. The existing electrical inverter was reused and wired to customer supplied Fire Research FOCUS lights. Kussmaul air and auto ejects were installed and the auto eject was wired to the existing battery conditioner. The customers existing hose reel, ladders and deck gun was reinstalled on the apparatus. The body and cab was completely repainted, lettered and striped.
